Pickup:
Pickup in Tamworth, NSW is free. Once your painting is ready for collection, we will arrange a time that suits for pickup.
Shipping & Freight
To ensure your artwork arrives safely, all original paintings are sent using a specialist packing and freight service.
Unlike standard parcels, original artworks require custom protective packaging before they can safely travel through Australia’s courier network. Each painting is professionally wrapped, boxed and prepared specifically for artwork transport, significantly reducing the risk of damage during transit.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs vary depending on the size of your artwork and your location.
As a guide, total freight generally ranges between $300–$550 Australia-wide.
Your shipping quote includes:
Collection of your artwork from my Tamworth studio
Transport to my specialist packing team
Professional artwork wrapping and custom packaging
Courier freight to your address (or nearest regional depot where applicable)
Tracking details once your artwork has been dispatched
Every shipping quote is individually calculated based on your location, the size of your artwork, and the courier services available in your area.
Where possible, your artwork will be delivered directly to your address. For some rural and remote locations, delivery may instead be made to the nearest regional depot for collection. This is determined by the courier network servicing your area and can sometimes help reduce freight costs.
Your personalised shipping quote will be provided in your booking email once your commission details have been confirmed.
Delivery Address & Authority to Leave
Please note that all deliveries are sent with Authority to Leave. This means that if nobody is available to receive your artwork, the courier will leave it in what they deem to be the safest accessible location at the delivery address.
When selecting your delivery address, please consider whether there is a secure, weather-protected location where your artwork can safely be left if required. If your chosen address does not have a suitable location, or you would prefer delivery to an alternative address (such as a workplace), or collection from a nearby courier depot, please let me know before your artwork is dispatched so I can arrange this where possible.
While every effort is made to ensure your artwork is delivered safely, Abby Locke Art cannot accept responsibility for theft, weather damage or other loss occurring after an Authority to Leave delivery has been completed.
Shipping Timeframes
Please allow approximately:
Up to one week for your artwork to be collected from my Tamworth studio, transported to my specialist packing team, and professionally packed.
1–4 weeks for delivery after dispatch, depending on your location and the courier network servicing your area.
Once your artwork has been dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details directly from my shipping partner.
Accepting the Shipping Terms
If you choose for me to organise shipping, you acknowledge and accept the quoted freight and handling costs, together with the shipping process outlined above.
Arranging Your Own Courier
Alternatively, you’re welcome to arrange your own courier if you have a preferred transport provider.
Please note that original artworks require specialist packaging before they can be safely transported. If you choose to organise your own freight, you will also be responsible for arranging suitable professional packaging, transport, insurance (if required), and all associated logistics.
Once an artwork leaves my studio with a courier arranged by the purchaser, responsibility for the shipment transfers to the purchaser and their chosen courier. Abby Locke Art cannot accept responsibility for any loss, delay or damage that occurs during transit under these arrangements, and any claims relating to transport must be made directly with the courier provider.

As farm map commissions have become increasingly popular, and each piece is personally hand-painted by me, I complete commissions through a structured monthly schedule. Clients are allocated a completion month based on their place in the queue.
If your painting is needed for a specific occasion — such as a wedding, birthday, or special event — please include those details in the form and I will do my best to accommodate your timeframe.
-
A non-refundable deposit is taken for all commissions, as each artwork is a completely custom piece. Your canvas and frame are specially ordered, paints and materials are purchased specifically for your artwork, and many hours are dedicated to sketching and painting each piece by hand.
Creative Licence: The Client acknowledges that the commissioned artwork is an original piece created in Abby Locke’s signature artistic style. While composition and property details will be approved before painting begins, all artistic decisions relating to colour palette, brushwork, texture and creative interpretation remain at the Artist’s sole discretion. Exact replication of previous artworks or specific colour placement cannot be guaranteed.
Payment is made via bank transfer. Bank details are sent to you by email once you have submitted your request form below.

Purchasing a piece as a gift for someone special? If you would like your artwork completed in time for a particular occasion — such as a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or Christmas — please include the exact date when booking and I will do my very best to schedule your commission accordingly.
Even if your special date is still months away, it’s important to secure your booking early. Reserving your place in the queue ensures your painting month is set aside for you, as commission spots are limited and often fill well in advance.

My Creative Process
Every farm map I paint is an original artwork.
Before I begin painting, you’ll receive a digital composition sketch to check that the layout is correct. This is your opportunity to confirm paddock boundaries, roads, rivers, dams, buildings, property names and other important features. The colours shown represent my general palate, but are purely for reference and do not represent the finished artwork.
Once the composition has been approved, the creative process begins.
Each painting is created entirely by hand using my signature style and colour palette. I hand-mix most colours and shades - often blending four or more paints together to create a single shade - meaning no two paintings are ever identical. While my work is recognisable for its soft pinks, earthy greens, warm ochres and rich natural tones, every commission develops its own unique palette as it evolves on the canvas.
You’re welcome to choose your preferred background colour (light pink, medium pink, deep pink or pale blue), and I’m happy to consider requests that help highlight significant features, such as making a national park or forested area slightly darker for contrast, more earth tones in a dryer area, adding blue irrigation lines etc.
However, I don’t create artworks from a prescribed colour plan or assign specific colours to individual paddocks. One of the joys of commissioning an original painting is allowing space for artistic interpretation. Each artwork grows organically as I paint, and this creative freedom is what makes every commission unique.
If you’re looking for an exact replication of another artwork or have a very specific colour scheme in mind for each section of the property, my painting style may not be the right fit. My goal is always to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork that reflects both your property and my artistic style, the style that drew you to my work in the first place.
Thank you for trusting me with your story. It truly is a privilege to paint these special places, and I pour my heart into every single commission.

The farm map you provide may be used as part of a social media post showcasing your finished painting. I often include the original farm map with some writing over the image, followed by a carousel of photos of the finished artwork.
These before-and-after style posts are a big part of how I share my work, and are often how people first discover my farm paintings and begin considering one for their own property!
If you would prefer for your farm map not to be included on my social media, I completely understand - please just let me know.
If I don’t hear from you, I’ll assume you’re happy for the map you’ve provided to be included as part of the finished artwork post.
